Mitigation & billing
DDoS mitigation is provided on a best-effort basis and is subject to network capacity at the time of attack. Mitigation capacity figures refer to the maximum attack volume handled per tier; attacks larger than the tier threshold result in automatic null-route of the targeted prefix until the attack subsides. Analyst support covers custom rule tuning, attack forensics, and filtering improvements. Unused hours and support minutes do not roll over.

Always-on & traffic engineering
Always-on mitigation is available for up to 20 prefixes at no charge; additional prefixes are subject to surcharge. Customers with an average of more than 10 Gbps of inbound clean traffic using always-on may be subject to an additional surcharge.

TransitX reserves the right to make traffic engineering changes to reduce the risk of collateral damage to other network users during volumetric attacks. This may include the temporary removal of route advertisements to specific peers, upstream carriers, or internet exchanges.

Q.Is there a minimum contract term?

No. All transit and DDoS services run on monthly rolling terms by default. Discounts are available for 12 or 24-month contracts or prepayments.

Q.Is DDoS protection really included?

Yes. Every port comes with TX Lite protection - up to 250 Gbps of automatic mitigation and 20 hours of coverage per month at no extra cost. Always-on mode is available for up to 20 prefixes at no charge on any tier.

Q.How are overages billed?

Overages apply only to traffic above your committed rate and are billed on 95th percentile, at a flat 15p per Mbps regardless of commit size.

Q.What about cross-connects?

Cross-connects are billed separately. You can either provide the XC yourself or pre-pay the full cost plus a 5% administration charge and we'll arrange it for you.

Q.Can I aggregate my commit across multiple ports or PoPs?

Yes. A single commit can be spread across multiple physical ports and across any of our PoPs - London, Coventry, Manchester, and future European locations. Usage is pooled on 95th percentile and billed as one service, so you get the volume discount without having to pick a single ingress point.

Q.Do prices apply outside London?

Pricing shown applies to the Telehouse London campus. Manchester, Coventry and future European PoPs are quoted on request - usually at or near parity.
